cleveland’s favorite deli

Corky & Lenny’s has been a Cleveland staple since 1956.

Corky & Lenny’s has captured the hearts and stomachs of the greater Cleveland community and their visiting friends and relatives for over 60 years. “We’re iconic in Cleveland. We’ve had so many people pass through our doors, then their children and now their grandchildren. It’s quite an accomplishment,” said Gloria Kurland, Corky’s wife.

If you like juicy corned beef, crunchy dill pickles, hearty Jewish comfort food, and the best freshly baked pastries in town then Corky and Lenny’s is the restaurant for you.

From a Bagel to a Banquet, Corky & Lenny’s is Where People Meet to Eat.

History of Corky & Lenny’s

In 1956, Sanford “Corky” Kurland partnered with Lenny Kaden to open a New York style deli and restaurant featuring great deli meats and the Eastern European and American dishes they had both grown up eating. The original Corky & Lenny’s opened in Cedar Center, a shopping center in South Euclid, Ohio and in Woodmere Village, Ohio in August of 1973. After years of brisk business at the original location, Corky and Lenny’s expanded and opened its current location (27091 Chagrin Blvd in Woodmere) in 1973. With help from new partner Alex Pearl, business continued to grow.

Corky and Lenny’s continued to prosper and serve customers both near and far. In 1990, Alex Pearl passed away and Lenny decided to retire. Fortunately, Corky’s son Kenny, and nephew, Earl, stepped up as new partners after growing up in the business. Then, in 1994 the Cedar Center location closed its doors after 38 years of warm support from their customers.

Corky passed away in October of 2011. His vision and commitment to quality are still evident in every plate of food served and every smile that flashes across diner’s faces.

In May 2012 the first Corky & Lenny’s express location successfully opened inside the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland. With such a positive demand for the first express location, Caesars Entertainment requested to open a second express location inside the Thistledown Racino in 2014.  After opening the second express location, Earl retired and left Corky’s son, Kenny, to continue the traditions of his father.

Corky & Lenny's has enjoyed a rich and successful history, none of which would be possible without loyal customers and a very devoted staff. Many of our employees have spent the majority of their careers at Corky & Lenny's, for some that is over 40 years!
